XP PRO SP2 1

Hi, hope you can possibly help me, i have xp pro on my laptop, i have installed the latest build version of sp2, when i go to shut down, it just stays at the blue screen, it never did this before i installed sp2.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Make sure you stay up-to-date with Windows update.

it is fully up to date, but that didnt work

i cant remember what build version of service pack 2 that i have on there, but maybe its best to remove it

If you downloaded one from anything other than:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/sp2preview.mspx

I would be concerned.

There were two large updates this morning to SP2.
