Runnin XP Pro. Old DOS program that only points to LPT1, LPT2..etc..

NT based network. NO local printer on LPT1. Printing to a shared printer on another computer on the network. How do i make this dinky but important program print to the network printer. If I leave it set at LPT1..it just hangs up...

Thanks in advance!

did you try mapping your lpt1 port to your network printer.

Open a command prompt and type the following.

net use lpt1 \\computername\printer_share_name

Hope this Helps
Nick

Thanks I will give that a try today and get back here and let you know the results.

Thanks much for the tip!
:)

You can check all your mappings with just the "net use" cmd.

I beleive you can also add a /persistent:yes to make the mapping of the lpt1 port persistant. otherwise you will need to do it everytime you reboot.
