I'm quitting my job and I’m thinking about doing development work from home.

I work in VB6, ASP, Java and T-SQL.

AT home I have Win ME on a decent machine with AMD Athlon 1.4 processor.

My guts tell me to upgrade to XP pro but I hear a lot of arguments for Win 2000.

Is there a definitive answer to this conundrum?

Here is my experience as far as using XP-Pro as a development environment.
First I am a JAVA/C++ developer and have recently moved from Win2k-Pro to Win XP-pro. Now I am going back to win2K. Since moving to XP my machine locks up at least 2-3 a day. XP has problems with certain development applications...Lockes up or for some reason can never find the "license key". So needless to say I am moving back to win2k.
XP does have some "nice" utilities and things going for it, but nothing that I could not do or have for Win2K.
