I have SoHo with 4 computers 2 98, 1 xp home, 1 xp pro. The xp pro can not be seen or see others on network. I go through a router, it can ping the others and others can ping it but in network neighbor the other computers don't show up. All the machines can access the internet through the router. How do I get the pro to be seen and see the others on network.

I wonder if the windows xp machine is on the same workgroup as others

click on My Computer=>(rt click)properties=>computer Name tab(on the top)=>workgroup name

In the properties sheet for TCP/IP, Advanced, Wins tab, enable Netbios over TCP/IP and disable the use of LMHOSTS.

1. Ensure you have the latest firmware for your router.
