Hi,

How do I go about getting my XP machines to register with and use the version of BIND included with Redhat version 9?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Not quite sure what you meant by "register with". Do you mean you want to point your XP machine to the linux machine for DNS resolution? Use Dynamic DHCP on the linux machine. Then set up your XP box to obtain IP address automatically. It will get an address from the Linux box and at the same time the linux box should add the address to its tables.

I was trying to dynamically update Bind but after reading the manual and learning about the ACL's that need to be set up I don't think I will bother yet.
