XP fails to see JMicron IDE drive: Asus p5w DH

I hope someone can point me to a solution.
On my Asus P5W DH board, I have an IDE drive connected to the JMicron IDE port and the JMicron chip mode set to BASIC.

On the Matrix controller I have 2x SATA drives and BIOS set to Standard IDE.

XP is loaded on the IDE JMicron drive, (at least it was!). The system was running good.

Then yesterday I decided to set the 2x SATA drives in Raid0. I set the BIOS->Main->IDE Configuration->Configure SATA as [Raid]. The 2x SATA drives were the only drives listed in the Matrix controller. I finished the setup and got nervous and decided to DELETE the raid0 setup.

I went back to the BIOS and reset the IDE Config back to [Standard IDE].

Now when the system boots, I still see the JMicron controller presenting its IDE drive as connected but XP won't boot.

I booted up the XP disk and evoked the "R" recovery function but the JMicron dirve is not visable. However the 2x SATA drives are seen by XP?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Additional information:
I booted my ReaToGo/X-pe disk and browsed the Device Manager. The 2x SATA drives are present AND the EIDE drive on the JMicron controller is also present under "Disk Drives".

The driver for all 3 drives is Disk.sys. I do not see a SCSI / RAID entry in the Device manager so I can't tell if the JMicron standard IDE driver is loaded or not.

You say the JMicron IDE drive is visible in BIOS, check its boot order. I have this MB, have the Matrix SATA set to RAID 1 (for XP), did not touch the JMicron jumper on the MB, connected a Raptor to the JMicron SATA (for Vista) and an old crapola to the JMicron IDE (for Ubuntu Linux).

To load my various OSes, after marking which RAID cable went where, I first disconnected all other drives except the one I was loading and booted to CD, and loaded away. Once finished, I set "Intel RAID 1" as first boot device, but should I want to boot to Linux or Vista I press F8 during BIOS POST to be presented with a boot choice options list, select the drive, and boot away.

I'm not sure how my JMicron chip mode is set in BIOS but I will look when I get home. I hope this has been of some help.

Thanks Tony for the append.
I built a Bart/PE disk and found that the JMicron EIDE disk is visible and that indeed the partition had been removed. I don't know why. I probably messed up when I set the raid up on the Matrix controller.

I purchased a license for GetDataBack and made a new Bart/PE disk to see if I can recover some data I didn't backup. Not making a current backup is the most foolish thing I've done in recent times.

When I get what data I can recovered, I think I may see about building my Raid0 on the Asus EZ-back controller and leave the SATA on the matrix for my XP OS.

That's why I run a RAID 1 on the matrix. They say you can get the best of both worlds and run a RAID 10 (1+0) by using both controllers, but that scares me. Once you've had a major data loss you tend to be more conservative. If you do run a RAID 0 on the Matrix do yourself a favor and put the biggest cheap IDE drive you can onboard for backup, set up a disaster recovery plan, and execute it daily. NT Backup is better than nothing. External drives are OK too, but I really like a combination, onboard drives backing up daily to a resident drive and weekly/monthly spool-off to USB /FW/eSATA drive.

Good luck with GetDataBack, it's a great program, purchasing it was a wise move but it's not a golden parachute.

Thanks Tony.

If The Matrix controller is set set to Raid in the BIOS, How is it possible to use 3 SATA drives on the Matrix, 2 of which would be Raid0 and the 3rd with the OS installed on it?
