Hi there,
I upgraded a computer to Windows XP Pro, and I didn't find a working driver for the Canon printer: lbp-660 (parallel port). Canon won't deliver specific XP driver. Win2K driver is not working, installation went well but nothing happend, neither "printing test" nor "real printing" were successful, the printer remains silent/no activity.
Anybody could help on this ? Thx!

Thanks very much for this advise, but these had been my first actions:
- download driver from Canon site, no XP driver, took Win2K driver but didn't work
- download from check all the available drivers (!) no success
- download from this guy: no success

Help !
I am about to put this canon printer in a bin and buy a new one ... certainly definitively not a Canon !

hi
Found this on another forum site. Not going to say whether it will work or not [neutral]
But might be worth giving it a try, never know.

This is how you make your Canon LBP660 to work with Windows XP (all versions):
1. Download and install Canon LBP-660 driver for Windows 2000.
2. Disable the intrrupt use of this driver, this is how you do that:
Control Panel>Systems>Hardware>device Manager>COM & Ports>LPTx>Port Settings
Check "Never use an Itrerrupt"
3. reboot
And it will work

Regards
Max

From the Canon Australia website at

Windows XP support?
This device is not compatible with Windows XP.

For this product, Canon advertises compatibility with the following operating systems: Windows 95, 98, Millennium Edition (Windows ME), Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0

Limited functionality under Windows XP may be possible by using the Windows 2000 driver (available on this page)

Thanks Max8699, I tried this as well "never use an Interrupt", it didn't work :-(

Thanks PCBlondie, I'm now pretty sure that's it's over for me trying to work with this $*µ%£&# canon-printer, it's the confirmation that it won't work with XP.

I'll buy another printer (not a Canon this time).
