Im sure a lot of you have heard of this problem. Mine is a little bit different though. If I restart my XP i am sure to get this error, but if i turn it off and leave it for 5 minutes it works fine.
I installed XP clean 3 times, on 2 different harddisks. I tested my RAM.
My computer did not cause any problems for half a year, and then suddenly this problem persists. Please help me....

of course i tried replacing the files like microsoft suggests, but everytime i restart i still does this....

Those having this problem, are you using a firewall such as Zone Alarm or Black Ice Defender???

Last night I had this problem for the second time in less than a year. The common ground for these two critical errors started first with Black Ice Defender. There were a series of Black Ice induced system crashes, then the windows32\config\system corrupted critical error appears, rendering me helpless. Performed full system reinstall to fix. Last night the same thing occurred except now I was using Zone Alarm Pro. Since June, there had been about 5 system crashes caused by True Vector Engine. I tried to logon last night to get a Zone Alarm update, system crashed several times before I ever logged on, then the major critical error. Can't boot at all now. Unfortunately, my vendor recovery disk will only allow a full reinstall (been there done that) and I lose ALL of my data and countless voyages looking for drivers.

I watched the True Vector errors and verified that as being the only source of the crash. Now with the windows32\config corrupted...........pretty much tells me these firewalls dig deep into your OS and can unexpectedly cause major problems. Of course they would never admit to such.
