Hey - I am currently running Windows XP Professional... every time I try to turn
my computer on, it shows me this screen that gives me like 4 options (to start comp.
in safe mode, safe mode w/ networking, start computer in last known good state, or
start Windows up regularly) - whichever option I choose, the Windows XP Pro loading
screen appears, and then there is a QUICK flash of a blue screen, and then the computer
restarts itself and starts the whole process up again! Please help! I have no idea
whats going on! Thanks, Chris

When I see this in Windows 2000 it means that I have a corrupt registry. I never had any luck fixing them so I just re-image the drive. If you don't have a ghost image, you probably will have to do a reinstall. If you have access to a camera try taking a shot of that blue screen as it flashes past. That is how I found out what the my problem was, maybe it will have information that you can post back and get a resolution

Good Luck

If you can't boot then options become limited. If you have recently attached any new hardware try physically removing it and see if it boots.

You could try using the Recovery Console if you have the XP CD.

HOW TO: Install and Use the Recovery Console for Windows XP (Q307654)

While in Recovery Console try running Chkdsk.

Then try this procedure.
An easy to follow recovery console description when unable to start computer due to corrupt registry.

Click on Tutorial then the Charlie White article on XP crash.
This is a laymans version of Q307545 in simple language.

If no luck with the above you can try repairing windows itself by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

Thanks guys for all your help - I think I will just do a clean reinstall of Windows XP! thanks again,
