Hi all

A small problem with one PC here. I've changed the colour scheme to silver, but every time the machine reboots it changes back to the default blue. This wouldn't be a big deal except the use is colour-blind and can't read any text on the blue title bars. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

John

Are you making these changes as the correct user, as they are user specific changes?

See Line 30, left column for the saving settings issue.

Is his Profile corrupt?

Windows Cannot Load Your Profile Because It May Be Corrupted (Q318011)

Is there any Group Policy set preventing you from saving your settings?

Try:

right-click the desktop, Properties.
Select the "Windows Classic" theme. Apply. Reboot.

Repeat the steps and choose Windows (Modified) and Silver.

Thanks for the replies. I tried the reg fix, and resetting to Windows Classic first, but no joy. I'm sure the profile isn't corrupt - Windows remembers all the user settings except the colour.

I've done quite a bit of searching and it seems there are a few people with this problem. Haven't found a fix yet though. Any more ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John

Try checking the Themes Service, see if stopping and starting has any effect on the problem.
