I am trying to install an XP Client on to the network....
Should be simple...Right!

I verified the XP client has been assigned an IP in the DNS/DHCP/AD(These are all in one) server and have been able to logon to the server using an end users password as well as the network admin password. I am able to map network drives to the PC and it in general seems to be logged on.

The issue that I am having is that this client can not ping anything on the network or I can not ping it from the another client on the network. I can not see the entire network from this new client.

Any suggestions?

I thought of that as well. Verifed Windows Firewall is disabled and went into services of that PC that Norton was shutdown as well.

Thanks for the response.

ping 127.0.0.1 (local loopback)
how is the pc connected 2 network
is it a domain or peer to peer network
maybe u post ipconfig /all from the xp machine
is it xp home/pro?
