Hi there,

I have a new PC which I'm testing with XP on a Windows 2000 domain. For some reason the published apps are not installing even though the GPO's are being applied. The startup scripts in the GPO's work fine. GPRESULT returns no errors and there's nothing in the event logs. PC is fully patched and the XP firewall is also turned off.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Are you setup in a multi site environment? If so, the bigest tool with GPO application deployment is patience. The GPO has to replicate to all DC's before it will allow you to install. On that note, if you are in a single site environment, be sure you have DNS setup properly otherwise the FRS will not replicate the sysvol share properly and you will get squat. :) Good Luck!

I don't know whats happened but for some reason it has suddenly started working! Everything is on the same site so no timing issues. Will keep an eye on the DNS if it happens again though.

Thanks for your advice,

Glenn
