XP Can't Join the domain.

Has any one had a problem joining XP Pro to a windows domain?

I try to join the domain and get the error "The specified server can not perform this operation"

The Windows Knowladge base states that XP Pro has a bug and that the adaptor on the network must be bound to the DNS?

If anyone has had this problem and resolved it please let me know?

on the XP machine- run a command prompt and see if you can ping - severname.domain.name

if not-- there is a DNS issue
