I a m trying to connect a new XP Box to my ol' NT4 PDC to no avail.
after searching here and there I finally discovered that the new PC can ping every machine (98, 2k) on my network but can't be pinged ??
I could'nt imagine this !!
as far as I can see, IPsec is not enabled, nor ICF.
the funnyest (but maybe there is a reason there ?) ius that I already installed an XP box with the same XP-installation CD and this one works like a charm

ideas appreciated

I thought that ICF stands for "internet Connection Firewall" that answers your first question.

As far as I can see it is not enabled in the connection properties..

I would try and run a port scan on the xp box if I were you. That should turn up some info.

It sounds like you are running Firewall software (like norton or zonealarm), XP's own, or a VPN client that is blocking external icmp request to your system.
