Ok two questions really that I hope a few of you will be able to help me out with.
I am new to XML and XSL but want to learn it by creating a homepage for myself (so I can learn by doing)
so the first question is:
A) What is a good freeware xml and XSL editor? (I seem to be having more trouble with the XSL)

And the other is:
B) A simple XML personal homepage that someone has created so I can see what is possible and take tips from it (or even a tutorial for creating a homepage as there does not seem to be ANY!)

Any help would be most appreciated or any advice for a newbie :)

Hi Tom,

Well, there aren't that many true xsl editors, while xsl is actually just plain text. Thus, if you know the syntax, why need an editor...

Even so, Altova has created a xsl WYSIWYG editor which is shipped with XML Spy (They say you don't need xsl knowledge for it). I've tried several xml editors, but I think this is one of the greatest. It isn't freeware though...

You can download a evaluation version from It comes with sample files, so you will also have your examples.

Good luck!

Thanks JJR
Have downloaded XML SPy and trying it out now, on a 56k so taking a while!

Do you know of any simple homepages written in XML that I could use for pointers or any tutorials specifically about creating a web page? I think I know creating a table list off by heart now, as all the tutorials seem to be about the same thing! lol
