I have created a template called X.XLT & X.XLS and placed them in XLSTART. It works great, the new spreadsheet has all my formating that I want standard. My only problem is when I chose save as, it trys to save all new documents to XLSTART, unless I change the path back to my documents. How can I fix this?

Have you checked your default save location???

Tools > Options > General Tab > Default File Location.

hth......

Thanks,
Bob

It is set to my documents in there.... but still trys to save to XLSTART.

Is this XLSTART folder inside your My Documents folder???

Thanks,
Bob

no, its a default folder in different locations depending on the version of windows.

c:\program files\microsoft office\office111\xlstart\ (or like that)

or

c:\documents & settings\username\application data\microsfot\xlstart\

like that

The second location listed above c:\documents and settings\username\application data\microsoft\ is the default for AutoRecover. This option is located under Tools > Options > Save Tab.

Is this something that didn't close properly??

Thanks,
Bob
