XIMIAN EVOLUTION 1.0.8 on REDHAT 8.0

Yikes! Can't print mail messages from Evolution on RH8.
Just get "Segmentation fault"
Have installed all latest patches/rpms etc.

You CAN output from evolution to a PDF file and then open the PDF in XPDF and then save that as a Postcript file which can then be opened and printed using Ghostcript! A bit of a lengthy process! Anyone know a shortcut?
You CANNOT output to a Postcript file from Evolution because you just get the old "Segmentation error" again.

Ximian do not support evolution 1.0.8 on RH8 - so why did RH knowingly bundle an unsupported product in their "flagship" desktop system? Especially one that is incompatible in a BIG WAY? Beats me!

Apparently, Ximian will support RH8 but only from v2 of Evolution (not ready yet).

I like EVOLUTION. I like RH8. I just want to print the OCCASIONAL e-mail. Is that too much to ask?

Er, problem solved.
Today I installed multi-gnome-terminal which required the compat-db rpm.
I later found that I could print my e-mails directly from evo without pratting around.

So maybe thats the answer...install compat-db (install multi-gnome-terminal also cos its quite good).

It seems my previous rant was unjustified...
Alone we can do nothing, together we decide that nothing can be done.
