Has anyone been able to get this working properly?

I have set up Infoview Single Sign On using Windows AD authentication.
see I have also loaded the latest hot fixes - beXIwin_en (May 12 2005) and commonXIwin_en (May 10 2005)

Single Sign On works both when logged on locally to the Enterprise server or a remote client. i.e. no password prompting.

When logged on locally to the Enterprise server I can run Infoview and view reports successfully.

However from a remote client the following error is given when I try to view a report:

CrystalReportViewer

Error caught in ICrystalReportViewerImpl::render

Unable to retrieve Object.
Service was not found.

I still get the error if I log off Infoview and then log on manually using either Enterprise or AD authentication.

I am using the DHTML viewer.

A similar error also occurs when trying to view a report scheduled to email via the default ....infoview.... hyperlink.

Report Linking Error

There was an error in launching the viewer:
Service was not found.

If I change the Infoview Web.config file so that it does not have the necessary keys for AD SSO, after logging in to Enertprise using either Enterprise or AD authentication I CAN view reports OK both through Invoview and emailed hyperlinks.

Server OS is W2K sp 4 running in VMware
Clients IE6, W2K sp4 & XP sp2

I have contacted Tech Support, but as yet they have been unable to replicate the problem - still waiting for them to try AD SSO.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Malcolm.

This sounds similar to the problem we had with AD SSO when installing CRXI Server.

It seems that with a Windows 2000 server, ASP .NET creates a directory for temporary files in the following folder: c:\documents and settings\yourservername\ASPNET\Local Settings\Temp

Try giving write permissions to "Authenticated Users" for that Temp folder. Apparently when using the DHTML viewer, files need to be stored temporarily on the server and most users will not have write access to this folder.

Business Objects support helped us discover the problem and they believe it is only affects Windows 2000 servers and not Windows 2003 servers.

I hope this works for you - good luck!

Thankyou TIBRon.

You solved my problem!! [medal]

It was my last (known) road block for moving forwards with version 11.

I will contact tech support here in Australia and let them know of your solution. It would have saved a lot of time if there had been something in the knowlege base. I'm sure I will not be the only one to come unstuck with this issue.

Thanks again.

Malcolm.

Super - glad the fix worked for you as well! [thumbsup]

Business Objects support told me they were going to create a knowledge base entry for this issue. I guess it hasn't been created or posted as of yet.
