Hi I recently installed a 5600 geforce card and when I check under settings advanced then 5600 geforce it shows direct x 9.0 c etc and it says bus : pci mode or sometimes pci x0 can someone show me where I can fix this? This is driving me nuts the card is supposed to run on 8x and i know the board supports it. thanks everyone.

Did you remove the old video card from Device Manager, and uninstall its software, and make sure that AGP is selected for your primary display in BIOS?

If so, then uninstall and reinstall the new card's drivers.

If no luck, then install the latest drivers form Nvidia.

If still no good, then install the latest drivers for your MB's chipset.

yeah I tried that kind of stuff.... when I go to install the chipset drivers it starts to install and then drops out.

Are you installing the correct MB drivers for your MB and O/S?

What exactly happens when you try to install them?

my board is a abit an7 and I tried the chipset drivers and I open the install it says installing and then after that it shows the nvidia logo. Then it closes. Let me know.

If you're installing the MB drivers from the Abit site, then d/l them again.
It's a big file, and it may have been corrupted during the d/l process.

If you're installing the MB drivers from a CD, then they may have installed ok.
However, that video card may not be compatible either with your MB, or with your O/S(Win XP SP-2 can cause all sorts fo problems with hardware).

i am not using SP 2 that is a piece of junk. I have had this working before but I had to reinstall.... but yes I did d/led it off the Abit website. It just doesnt seem to install. I fixed this once but since it was long ago you forget :(

Try d/l the file during off peak hours from 12 midnight to 6 am, if possible.
That will minimize the chances for corruption.
