My previous thread seemed to be removed, so this is my second try ;)

I’ve obtained an M15i without network support. I want to see if Onetouch scan is possible? When I install the drivers on a Vista laptop and connect the USB cable, all works fine with Paperport. But these are quite a few steps to take to scan a simple document. So when I press start on the M15i (in scan mode) the display says ‘Connecting’ for a couple of seconds and then ‘Failed to connect’. What is it doing at that point? Is it possible what I’m trying to do with this device?

Thanks in advance!

Could be the ports are'nt the same. 2.0 on the laptop, and 1.1 on the printer? Or you are using a firewire port?

Well my laptop is indeed USB 2.0. But that's a bit hard to test because I don't have any laptop or PC left with USB 1.0 ;)
And all other functions work ok, so I'm not too sure that's the problem.

I'll search for an old USB HUB.

Well, it could be the printer is'nt quick enough to process info to the computer. Did yu install the full driver for the M15i, or just the basic?

I've tried bot drivers, but I must admit that the OS is Windows 7, so maybe this won't work? I don't see any error's.

But I was just curious what should happen when you push the Start button in Scan modus?
