I've switched from an 8560 to 8550 and the ink blocks are a bit different in size. Can I trim the 8560 block to fit in the 8550? It doesn't need trimming on the bottom, only on one of the sides. I'm fairly sure that the ink sensors are on the bottom of the block as it comes in contact with the "slide tray".

Please let me know your opinion on this. I have almost $300 worth of 8560 ink.

Thanks!

I *want* to say that the solid ink blocks are compatible.

I *won't* make that guarantee. :)

Use them at your own risk.

I can see the 860 to the 8550. Those models are years apart. However, the 8500 and 8560 are mere months apart. I would be willing to bet that the ink formulation for those two is identical.

Thats a real bugaboo about inks. The 8500/8550 take the same, but the 8560 take's it's own. Formulation differences.
