have a xerox phaser 8400 that it's ghosting on the left side of the printed page face up and to the right if it's facing down. you can also see the ghosted image on the right side of the silver drum if you open the cover and you are in front of printer.
it's also getting paper jams becase of the build up ink on the rihgt side of th drum, paper is stickig to the drum.

the maintenance kit was replace 3 weeks ago still looks good and oilly.

when i ruan the cleaning cycle you can see the maintenance kit moving up and down trying to cleaned the drum but the ink is realy stock on it.

any ideas

thanks

Sounds like you have a bad drum maintenance pivot plate and or dm camshaft. I suggest replacing both at same time.

how can you tell if the printer has xerox ink cartridges vs. 3rd party ink cartriges.

also what causes light stripes?

on the light stripe test the magenta has more light stripes than any of the other colors even after running the "eliminate light stripes" test 2-times. it improved a fair amount on the first test, but now we are recieving redundant tests with no improvement. is there another way to clean or a test to improve the magenta light stripes?
any ideas much thanks in advance...

Xerox ink will have a stamp on the bottom of each stick. If you are seeing multiple missig jets (10+)in one color plus missing jets in others and you print solid fill of each color and the missing jets get worse the more you print then it sounds like you have a failure due to 3rd party ink. The only resolution is to replace the head. you may be able to get the ink manufacturer to replace the head if they warrant their ink against failure.
