I have a dfi nf4 mbo with an athlon 64 3500+ processor and have been using a 7600 gt gfx card successfully for a while.

I was forced for various reasons to change ot for an ati radeon x1300 and cannot get any games to work, they all(the games I play) go into the menus fine but when i try to actually start a game the screen goes funny and i get a warning that the driver is not responding...

I have got all the latest drivers etc. but nothing seems to help...

Thanx in advance.

Have you tried the manufacturer for support help?

Are there any clues in the Event Viewer?

thanx dude will try andlet you know!

tried all that stuff, even reformatted the HD!!! nothing.....is it likely to be a harware compatibility isue? Or a malfunctioning Graphics card?

Thanx

I am as wise as you on that last question and feel your frustration. Drivers for the card are the number one suspect, followed by the card itself. Is the card giving any other video problems besides gaming?

Have you tried running the DxDiag tool?

no problems other than games, but i dont do anything else too demanding (web surfing, word processing, etc,).

the games seem strange tho: in dawn of war the menu screen works fine even tho it has a bunch of 3d anims in it......

will try DxDiag tool asap, Thanx for the help so far!!!!!!
