X - Video Problem

I can not use my Gnome Desktop...
I receive an error each time I run the Xconfigurator.
I have a ViewSonic E771 Monitor (17&quot and an Intel i810.
I've tried 640x480, 800x600, etc.
And different color depths... and I still get the error!
What should I do?

I'me VERY sorry I can't write down exactly what it says (I will tomorrow, I promise) but it's something like

"There is an error with your video card"
