Can anyone help establish what the problem may be on my two 5403's? I am trying to enable port2 2-3..as they are currently "inactive." After visiting the Cisco site to ensure that I have used the right commands...I am still unable to configure the balde properly. I have cleared the boards of all previous configurations. I am using a WS-X5509 Sup Engine. Please see the following outputs...

Thanks!

Sounds like the blade isn't supported in your CLS version. I'd try upgrading and see if that helps.

This is a 5509, right? With a Supervisor Engine II, only port 1 is active. With a Supervisor Engine III, all ports are active.

Also, in the Catalyst 5002 and 5000, only port 1 is active.

Thank you very much the help on this issue. Problem resolved.

If I remember correctly, port channels must be in groups of 2 or 4... I don't believe 3 is a valid port channel...

Mike

Etherchannel groups can be assigned to between 2 and 8 ports but it will be active only on even pairs. If 3 are enabled, 2 will be active. If one fails, 2 will be active.
