When my neighbors who also own the same router come online I lose my wireless transmission. I know this because when I check “Wireless networks available”, I see 2 or 3 more names listed there and my signal is gone. It there a solution for this issue?
Thanks to all.

I'd say to configure your router with a UNIQUE connection name and to set the client to use the same connection name. Also, use an encryption key (generated or make up one of your own). Use this to guarantee connection only to your router and will keep others OUT.

Also after setting a unique name and requiring an encryption key, turn "SSID Broadcast" off from within the router config. Then from your PC, configure the card to match your settings. This should effectively keep you from losing your connection and help prevent others from stealing it.

cdogg,
"Then from your PC, configure the card to match your settings."
Could you please explain how this is done?
Thanks,

Both Linksys' website and the manual that came with your wireless card should explain it in detail.

The basic rundown is that you just key in the information that you set on the router side into the card's software configuration on the PC. Info needed would be the unique SSID you set in the router, along with the WEP Hex key. With all the correct info entered, the wireless card should be able to detect and connect to the router.
