I have about lost all my hair over this. I am running a Windows SBS 2003 behind a Linksys WRT54G v4.20.7 router. Port forwarding is setup to the server and PPTP Passthrough is enabled. The firewall is set to the Linksys deafults (checked "Block Anonymouse Internet Requests," "Filter Multicast," and "Filter IDENT(Port 113)") We do have a static ip from our ISP.
On the client side I have installed the SBS Connection Manager. All the users with client computers have a Linksys WRT54G v4.20.7 at their homes. All their routers are setup basically the same way except the ports are forwarded to their specific computers. I cannot get a VPN connection to establish for the life of me. I get errors 718 and 721 mosts commonly. If I take the Linksys router out of the equation on the client side and connect directly to the broadband modem I am able to connect without any problem.
I have tried many types of configurations on the client side routers (Including changing MTU setting and disabling the firewall on the router). I don't feel like there is a problem on the server side considering we are able to get in without the routers on the client side. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it and maybe I could leave the server be for awhile.

never had any luck with that particular router and establishing a VPN connection, and from the looks of it, likely never will as others have given up as well When I swapped out a users Linksys for a D-Link model everything was peachy kean, don't know what it is about the linksys routers.
I even tried the suggestions from Linksys support to no avail, give em a whirl, they may work for you
Linksys suggested the following:

Cisco Interface (If your Setup page has a Cisco Logo)
- Click on the Applications and Gaming Tab > Port forwarding > Enter
the ports needed to be opened > Click Save Settings

Regular Linksys Router Interface (If your Setup page has a no Cisco
Logo)
- Click on the Advance Tab > Port Forwarding Tab> Enter the ports
needed to be opened > Click Apply

(E.g. Given ports: 47- 47 - UDP&TCP, 50 - TCP, 500-500 - UDP
and 1723 - UDP&TCP for VPN Application). For the IP address: Enter
the IP address of the computer behind the router that will use the
application: E.g. 192.168.1.101

Customized Port Ranges Protocols IP address Enable
Application From ~ To TCP UDP

VPN 47 ~ 47 / / 192.168.1.101 /
VPN 50 ~ 50 / 192.168.1.101 /
VPN 1723 ~ 1723 / / 192.168.1.101 /
VPN 500 ~ 500 / 192.168.1.101 /

Do I need to diable any of the firewall features on the router?

Thanks for your help, unfortunately this didn't work.

I have heard good things about the Sveasoft support, anyone else.

I did try Linksys, they seemed to deny that there is even a possibility of a problem with their product... very frustrating.

1. try to set your wrt at the office as vpn server (I use dd-wrt at home and I can connect from anywhere (behind isa and PIX or just behind other cheap routers). Or,
2. You said you can connect if the client connected directly, what is the Network ID at the office and home?
you can't use 198.168.x.0 for both network.
