I am trying to connect my WRT54G to a Win2000 laptop with an Intel Pro Wireless Adaptor. The problem i am having is with setting the SSID.

I set the SSID on my router and on my laptop. I restrt the laptop and it finds the network, but i am unable to browse the internet.

If i erase the SSID on my laptop and restart it automatically picks up the wireless network and i am able to browse.

I want to disable SSID Broacast for security reasons, but when i do this the laptop no longer automatically finds the network and i am back to square one.

Any suggestions?

hi,

instead of disabling SSID broadcast try, enabling your WEP key (ENCRYPTION).

ssid BROADCAST would still be enabled but security would still be there. try 64 bit first, it's gonna generate a 10 char key.
