Hi all.

I am using 6.0.2 (ya, I know it's old...) and when I do a restore with nwrecover (unix or Windows), I check the Required Volumes before doing the restore.

Often, the required volumes that are listed by nerecover are wrong. I am prompted for another tape by the admin console.

I have tried nsrcking and it does not make any difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Have you checked what's on the tape(s) that are listed?
I would used a mminfo -a -v TAPENAME or something. Are
there any savesets related to what you are restoring? If
not, is the tape being called out always the same? Can
it be deleted from the mediadb?

The listed tape is one of the tapes in the set that was written at the same time as the requested tape.

The data on both tapes is good.

Your saying the required volumes window does not call it
out but it is indeed needed?

I'd run an mminfo for the client and time period your restoring from before kicking off a restore then.

It sounds like a bug in Networker.

That's what I figured.

Thanks very much RMinNJ!
