Wrong Mapping Error

Dear all

Please Help:
I've just set up NFS (SFU 3.0)on a Windows Server 2003 Cluster.

I've configured the User mappings through kopied and edited passwd and group files.
I 've implemented a simple mapping for a Domain user root to the Linux root User with the ID 0.
Then I created a Group with the Linux Host Name as member.
A NFS Share is set up on the Cluster.

When I try to mount the NFS Share from a Red Hat 7.2 Installation I receive a permission denied message.
The NTFS and the NFS Share Permissions are OK.

On the Cluster Node I receive a Event ID: 1021 from NfsSrv: There was a mapping failure.
On the MS Site I cannot find anything related to the Event ID.

I hope someone can help me.

Hi

Here's some items to check:
First, for multiple Unix-like clients, ensure there's not multiple UID for same users.
Second, ensure that's Windows mapped users haven't the "User have to change his password at next connection" box check. (User propreties in users & group mmc)
Use the same passord (even empty one for testing) on all systems.
After this, remember to click the "synchronize now" button in the user "name mapping" section in the SFU mmc.

I've Fix this bug in this way on a SFU 3.5 (free now !!!) computer.

I'm still having a similar problem.

Is the directory that you are sharing via NFS also being shared via CIFS? I'm not sure if that can be done reliably or not (which is why I'm here).

Dear all

I was away for a long time from here, so I'm sorry that I never responded to your posts.

We had found another solution (copy the files via SSH with Putty), so I never could manage to continue to search for a solution for this problem.

Eventually I can begin to look at it again during February.

If I find any soution, I will post it here.
