CURRENT SYSTEM INFORMATION

Software Load: R011r.03.1.531.0
Memory Configuration: G3rV11
Offer Category: A
Octel Aria 03.11.05-1
A call to users ring to VM and instead of getting the personal greeting the caller is receiving "Welcome to Octel Voice Infomation System" If you have a mailbox on this system press #. I dialed all the numbers in the hunt group and have received the correct recordings. Can someone tell me what happened or what to look for?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the integration is not correct. What type of FLT cards are u using and is the switch programmed exactly as per the config notes?

If its a Avaya PBX (definity, prologix, ect) make sure that the users name and extension number are with the first 15 characters of the name field on the pbx. ex 5555 smith, john.

Octel250 Thanks for the quick reply

The system has been working properly for months. Then BANG I get this problem I can't re-create. The users don't have their extensions in the name field, never did.
Also the connect between G3 and Octel is mode code. The hunt group members are defined as VMI.
The cards are FLT8

Thanks

That is pretty strange. I would double check menu 6-1 and make sure the DTMF codes to forward on a busy/RNA didnt get changed somehow and match what is coming out of the PBX.

Have you tried moving the ports over to another circuit pack on the PBX? If they aren't working properly, it may cause a problem with sending the Mode Code information (thus the standard auto attendant greeting). I've never had this problem myself, but that's where I would start looking.

it could also be a bad card in the PBX the tone card that is sending the DTMF for the mode codes one way to tell is to put a buttset on the line and see if you hear the dtmf after the port answers

Merry Christmas Everyone I will check octel250 Mode code stuff on Tues when I return. As for one station I am receiving reports that it's all over the switch. I got it my self when I dialed into VM to retrive msg's And got Welcome to Octel instead Of my mailbox. It got worse after a power hit!

Man this is strange

I've checked the Mode code stuff I think it's ok. Both are below
Octel
Digit Sequence for Direct Calls: #00#N##
Digit Sequence for Forward - All Calls: #03##N#
Digit Sequence for Forward - Ring No Answer/Busy:
Digit Sequence for Forward - Ring No Answer: #02#E#N#
Digit Sequence for Forward - Busy:
Number of Digits in Calling Party ID ("E"): 5
Number of Digits in Called Party ID ("N"): 5
PBX
MODE CODES (FROM SWITCH TO VMS)
Direct Inside Access: #00
Direct Dial Access - Trunk: #01
Internal Coverage: #02
External Coverage: #03
Refresh MW Lamp: #06
System In Day Service: #11
System In Night Service: #12
OK I'm stumped
However I am not getting calls of problems but it's a lite work week here.
Thanks

KenMeans Please explain? I have a 5 digit dial plan? And the Mailboxes match the PBX Extension?

I Don't understand your question

Thanks

I asked because the number of digits in a calling and called party is set to 5 and that would be the number it would expect to see from the PBX. I was asking to make sure that is what you have as it would cause a failure if not.

If the traffic is low and it is working I still think it points to the PBX not sending the mode codes all of the time if the system is under normal use

Thanks KenMeans

I will continue to monitor. I know quite well I'll hear it if it happens again

Thanks Again
Happy New Year
