Hi all!
I've noticed a strange thing happening on a few machines:
Users are having general connectivity issues and when I do an IPCONFIG /ALL, there DNS server is completely wrong. But in DHCP, the DNS servers are correct and the majority of people are getting the correct DNS/WINS server IP addresses. If I do a /release and /renew, they do get the correct settings...
This is a long shot, but I believe our switch is failing that our DHCP server is connected to. We had a bad storm last Friday and we've had strange things going on ever since. 4 ports in this switch have already gone bad. Could this switch be the problem with the wrong DNS server IP address being given out to these few users?
I know it's a stretch...I would think that if there were problems with the switch, they wouldn't be able to connect at all...Not get the wrong settings...
Thanks in advance...I know this is a strange issue...
Any ideas?
