This happens to me a lot. I install a 6-port expansion card and a fiber station module plugged into the bottom port. I should have sta 253-268, but I get 269-284 or 285-300. What am I doing wrong? How do I prevent this?

If you are adding an expansion card to an existing system, you can't prevent this. Those DN's are already assigned to B2's of the KSU.

The only way to resequence and have them in order is to do a restart.

Then I lose my config.

If I back-up the config, then expand the system and restart, will it take a restore with the new hardware in place?

Why not renumber the DNs via change DN under system programming?

Dasheen, yes, that is what I do....I was hoping for a fix to have the DN's appear as they should. Thanks
