I have bought a new machine with XP Professional.
The rest of the organisation are using Office 97 so I have installed this too though a newer version would be desirable !
Anyway, I am having problems writing code which I didnt have on my old machine (w98).
I use the 'auto list members' option to help complete statements but it only appears for a fraction of a second before disappearing again so not giving me time to pick the item I want ! Previously it was displayed for several seconds.
Also, access is inserting commas when I dont want them and removing leading and trailing spaces as I type and its driving me nuts. I played with all the options in the 'module' tab and cant get over these annoying problems - can anyone else help ?

When you installed Access, did you select the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and Windows 95 or 98?

I was getting some bizarre behavior until I switched that on. Find Access on the Start menu, right-click and select 'properties'. Have a look at the compatibility tab.

Boxhead,
Thanks - that worked a treat !
I tried using 95 then 98 compatibility but both gave errors regarding my custom toolbars - it seemed to think they were macro names so couldnt find them when loading the forms. However the Windows 2000 compatibility seems to work fine (so far...)

Thanks again,
Nick
