Below is my problem with Word Perfect ver. 7.
I have uninstalled and installed to no avail.
I also simply installed without uninstalling
but as you can see it still is not working.
Should I throw it in the trash can and get
the latest version, or has someone solved
the problem? I certainly hope so. I hate
giving up!!!

I have exactly the same problem, the software installs with no problem but as soon as you try to open the program to use it the error message pops up.
I am trying to install this program on a Compaq PII/400 desktop computer running Windows 98 Second Edition.
This exact same program worked okay in a Compaq PI/133 desktop computer running Windows 98.

I would say, for Win98, it would at least be worth the expense to upgrade to version 8. Honestly, though, you are using software that is 4 full versions behind

...it may be in your better interests to cut your losses and just spend the cash for the newer version.

Look on e-bay or other places...you can probably get version 8 for 25 bucks or so as opposed to $100+ for version 11.

I get the same message. I can use the program by moving the error message but it is anoying. I solved the problem by creating a shell for Corel Word Perfect 7 but it came back after a long time. The shell solution does not seem to work anymore.

Does anyone have any other solutions?
