I am trying to use the Windows clipboard feature to copy text from a web page and paste it into WP8. When I do it on my own office PC, it works. When I do it at a legal secretary's PC, when I do the Control-V, I get the last thing she pasted within the document, not what I just control-C'd in the browser. I can bring up Word97, Control-V, and get the text from the browser. Where is the setting or startup parameter in WP8 that controls clipboard operation? (we're using Win95 4.00.950B on my desk -the same (I think, will check) on the secretary's desk. This is a puzzlement!
Fred Wagner
frwagne@ci.long-beach.ca.us

I've now tried to recreate your problem on five different setups in three different environments. Couldn't get it to reproduce. This appears to be an automatic setting from the factory; can't see a way to block browser pickups, unless its something in the browser set up? You don't say which you were using.
Sorry, that's all I can think of.
S. Malkah Cohen
smcohen@fusionauthority.com
<a href= Home Page
S. Malkah Cohen
Your problem seems to be tied in to only the one computer. I've tried to get the same result on five differant systems and cannot seem to re-create this type clipboard result. Possibly this was caused due to a glitch in set-up portion of the internet service provider or operating system programs on this one computer that causes it to fail to read the item from the web page. I believe that if this problem was with WordPerfect, the clipboard feature would not work at all during normal wordprocessing.
Sorry that I'm unable to help you with this and good-luck with your quest. However, I would check with the internet service provider and the operating system provider to see if there is an updated version of their program that was not installed on this one computer. This has happened at my office several times and I've had to go back through all of the computers and make sure that the upgrades were installed so that they all work the same way for each user.
Donald and Malkah - thanks for your input - I'll try installing and updated browser on the user's PC (we use Netscape primarily here) -I'll try another version of Netscape, as well as IE5, and see if the behavior continues or stops.
Fred Wagner
frwagne@ci.long-beach.ca.us
