Would we be so critical of Microsoft if it was a free system? 5

Looking at the current posts in the forums - there has been a lot of critisism (rightly or wrongly - I'm not judging) on Microsoft.

I'd like to hear a discussion from people on whether they think MS would get as much critisism if it was a free OS? Is some of our critisism partly based on spite because MS has made millions?

I'm not here to say MS is in the right or in the wrong (personally I'm a Linux fan...) I just think this could be a really interesting topic.

Thoughts, please?

Well, I'm doing it with my boss' (yes more than one, gotta love it) permission... but I'm setting up a linux server to test my platform agnostic solution... I'm hoping to have fun and learn it well...

Mostly just for fun, I know if it's installed on Linux or the current W2k server it's on now won't really make a difference, but hey why not.

:)

Keeping that in mind, but as you know from other forums... installing linux on home to connect to my schools network which well supports it was a much easier undertaking than putting up in this environment... but I'm learning with help from you and others. Not to mention websites.

Onward and upward, think this is really going to help me in a specific other realm once I get a grasp on it.
