We are running MM 3.1 at 2 different locations. We are being tasked with combining these systems into a single 5.2 MM at a completely different location. So far there is no straight upgrade path since we are merging two systems into a single location in the process. And all the IP/Domain information is changing. Does anyone have any ideas? We don't really want to have to make 10,000 users reset their passwords.

Yes there are a few things that you can do but what kind of budget do you have to do this?

What system has the most users ?

One side has about 5,000 users and the other has about 3,000. Not really sure about budget.

Well the facts are that you can not merge 2 MM systems into one seamlessly.

So you will need to do a restore to the new system from the 5000 user one and use asa or some other tool to build them in the new one.

Bottom line is that unless all of the users will give you their passwords the will need to setup the mailbox again. (the 3000 users)

You can move the messages in one of many ways but this again depends on what it is worth to do this as none of them are free or cheap.

We can be a resource for your company if you need it.
