Worm disguised as Microsoft e-mail spreads

Thanks. I was one of those who missed the article. My Symantec subscription gave me good protection but I heard about this third hand. I'm in training this week and just saw email from a coworker that mentioned several different names for the worm. Would you happen to know how a virus gets its name? I guess I just never thought about it before and probably assumed that a virus came with a big sign saying "by the way, my name is..."

dOn't know really, i would suspect it's named by whomever discovers it. ... like a comet .. or a star =)

Hey all,
I received this very odd email and i didnt open the attachment. It said something like

Title : Re: My details
"Hi there, view your details attached"

The email said it was from Microsoft but i dont know why on earth they would send me an email, so i deleted it. Maybe that is what was that virus. If i had a look at the email am i ok then? or do i need to open the attachment to be infected?
I scanned with latest Norton Definitions and didnt get anything
