I am working on a Win2K Workstation, on a Novell network. This workstation will not print to one of our network printers, an HP LJ5000. I pinged the printer from this workstation, and it replied. All other workstations are printing to that printer fine. I logged onto the network and the workstation as the Administrator, deleted the printer and tried to add this network printer using the Add Printer Wizard. In the wizard, I choose Network printer, choose the printer from the network, and hit Next. Then I get the message, "Could not connect to the Printer. You either entered a printer name that was incorrect or the specified printer is no longer connected to the server....." I have recycled the printer, shut down the workstation and logged in again as the Administrator. Still no luck. Any ideas?

Are you running IP or IPX, are you using NDPS, is the printer hooked up to a jet-direct? Just a few questions to help out...

It has NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol, we are not using NDPS, and it is using jet direct. Thanks for your time.

Scott,
Someone else in my department installed the latest client, and now it's working! Thanks for you help!
