One of our users encountered a problem when opening up Accpac (version 4.2) locally - application did not launch. Initially the error indicated could not locate Cato3cnt.dll in the runtime folder as well as a number of winnt folders.

Initially tried addressing the problem by reinstalling, however that failed to resolve, so we manually copied the Catxx.dll files into the runtime folder.

This allowed the application to initiate and see the databases, however once inside of one of the companies, we cannot open any of the objects (G/L transaction report, Batch list etc.)

Any ideas as to what is going on??

He didn't have C:\CA_APPSW in the PATH.

forgive me - I am not very familiar with the maintenance of ACCPPAC and am not clear...

Where would this PATH be setup on the user's machine?

The search I did in ACCPAC gave a reference to a xxRT.ini file - more info would be appreciated

thanks for the quick response

PATH is the PATH, you know, either in AUTOEXEC.BAT or Control Panel/System/Advanced, etc.

C:\CA_APPSW is the standard location for Accpac's common tools folder.
