I am looking for advice on deploying Workplace for a customer. They are on Preferred Edition Release 11.1.

Do you recommend the Standalone/Simultaneous or the Spaces deployment?

The customer would like to deploy Avaya IX Workplace. From what I have read, there is a standalone/simultaneous deployment that will basically give the IP Office Workplace User a telephone app for their iPhone, Android, PC, Mac, etc. I don't think there are any bells and whistles with the standalone/simultaneous deployment such as Outlook integration, calendar integration, IM or Presence. My understanding is that with the Spaces deployment, IP Office Workplace Users will have IM and Presence. If I understand what I have read, the Workplace Users connect to Spaces for IM and Presence and connect to the IPO for telephony features. What is Spaces Calling? Is that different than the calling ability using the IPO? Does the (FREE) Essential Spaces license provide what I described above? Any insight from past deployments is greatly appreciated.
