Workplace/Mac and iOS - 46xxsettings.txt

Which value in the 46xxsettings.txt file does Workplace (for all platforms) use for the call server/SIP server address?

Does setting the No User Source Number of:
  • ENABLE_J100_FQDN
Use FQDN rather than IP addresses in the server address values provided to J100 Series phones. This requires that the FQDN values are correctly routable by the customer DNS servers and that the phones use the DNS server address (either obtained through DHCP or set manually).
affect the SIP server address(es) for the WORKPLACE apps?

We want to leave this disabled so phones use the IP address of the PBX - but we want our Workplace apps (iOS and Mac) to use the FQDN so they work seamlessly in and out of the office. We have split DNS set-up on the LAN that our laptops and iPhones connect to. For reasons too complicated to explain, we do not have split DNS on the LAN that the local phones connect to, hence why we want them to stay using the IP address.

Thank you.

Yes it does. Despite the source number name this also puts the SIP FQDN in the SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST setting under K1EXAUTOGENERATEDSETTINGS.
