I've opened several Cougar Mountain Accounting software tables and need to see if I can set up a relation. The tables are in Dbase IV format and I used DAO to open them. I then assigned them to a data control. Can see the data fine in a dbgrid that is assigned to the data controls. One table is an invoice header. The other is invoice detail. When I get to appending the relation get an error message that seems to indicate VB 6 can not handle setting up a relation with these types of tables.

I have not used DBASE format tables for some time but I would set up an ODBC connection (from control panel) using a suitable dbase driver and then use Microsoft's ADO (Active X Data Objects - 2.7 is the latest I think) technology to access the dbase format tables. ADO is not that much different to use that DAO, once you get into it.

Hope this helps

Once open can you set a relation. I.E. move the data in table 2 (child) when table 1 changes automatically.
