Dear Experts,

I'm starting to work with MSP 2007. I introduce the amount of work (in hours) manually but is automatically modified when I change the dates, Start/Finsih. Is there any way to keep the work hours always the same while modifying the dates?

You should not be entering dates manually.
A suggested process:
Modify your project calendar with holidays
Set the start date for the project
Create your tasks
Create predecessors and successors to drive task dates
Create resources
Assign resources and enter work -- Project will recalculate duration.

If you want the work to stay the same when you alter duration, set the tasks as Fixed Work. Then if you change duration, assignment units will change. If you change assignment units, duration will change.

Set the tast as a Fixed Word seems to be the correct answer! Is there any way to set it as default for all tasks and projectes?

Yes. Before you create tasks go to Tools> Options, Schedule task and set the default task type.

I've tested and is not exactly what I was expecting... If "Work Fixed" it means that a day is always the same amount of work, what means that if you increase the duration the work is also increased... We wanted to keep the work amount always the same.

Do you have resources assigned? With fixed work task types, increasing duration, will keep work stable and decrease assignment units.

Split your screen (Window > split) to view the Task Form. Select "Fixed Work" in the form and click OK. Now experiment with changing duration or assingment units.
