I have several reports that have long 'Text' columns which I manually wrap in the Excel after exporting. Is there some way I could set it in the Report Designer so I don't have to do it everytime and to every report??? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Mytips: Have you tried turning on the Can Grow option for your fields - this enables the field to occupy as much (up to 254 chars) as needed to display the contents whilst word wrapping within the space set by the field width on your report layout David C. Monks

I tried that. This would do the wrapping only on the Crystal Designer Preview. When I export the report, it would unwrap the whole thing and print on the Excel Sheet. Please let me know if you find anything else. Thanks for your response and time.

Hi,
I am looking for the exact same solution!!! Has anyone found the answer to this?

I tried exporting to .dif format. It does get all the contents of the long text field into the same cell (instead of starting in a new cell every 255 characters) but then no images, text formatting(like bold) are exported.

I am using CR7 exporting to excel 7 standard.

Thanks,
Shweta

Unfortunately you can't do it. CR doesn't support their fomat options exported to outside applications. It's absurd and irratating at best. Occassionaly I can get reports to export and look decent after days of fiddling with their appearance in Crysal Reports. Most of the time when I finally get the report to look decent in the spreadsheet, it looks pretty close to terrible in Crystal Reports. The best luck I've had is exporting to Excel 8 format with CR8.

Good luck though really I've been there.
