Word: transferring Autocorrect file in 2000 1

I know there is a way to save the autocorrect file in Word97 and transfer it to another PC (I found it in Microsoft's knowledge base), but I can not find out how to do this with Word2000. The folders and file locations referred to in 97 do not appear in 2000. Everytime I reinstall Office 2000, or use another PC I have to reenter my corrections. [sig][/sig]

I found mso1033.acl under c:\windows\application date\microsoft office

Most of the files that had been under C:\program files.... in Office 97 are here in Office 2K.

Using word97, I tried to back up the auto correct and load in into another computer, but the file was too large. It is used in transcription reports as techniques. Any suggestions?

What do you mean it was too large? Did you get an error or was to too large for a floppy to hold?

I beleive that the autocorrect entries are part of the normal.dot file.

Ouch for all of us. Looks like it changed in Word 2000. I did find it in Technet, but it was not easy! Here's the link:

Finally! Success! Thank you everyone. I finally figured out what I had missed in my original Search of the MS Knowledgebase. When Dreamboat sent the link (one I had already visited)I read it more carefully and realized I had to actually download the Macros9.dot from the Microsoft website first. The link below is the correct one, and if you read it carefully, it will take you to the Macros9.dot download site.

once I downloaded the Macros, I followed the directions and now all my PCs including the laptop have the same AutoCorrect file
