In Word 2000, I want to autogenerate a TOC that shows Heading 1 and Heading 2 but I only want the page number to appear beside Heading 1. ie. it should appear as follows:

John Jones ........1
ABC Company
Jane Smith ........2
XYZ Company

Is this possible? Or is there another way to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Joyce

I haven't found a "REAL" way of formatting this however. . .if you apply styles as such:

John Jones ........1 (Heading 1)
ABC Company (TOC2)
Jane Smith ........2 (Heading 1)
XYZ Company (TOC2)

It will yield the results you want. Please let me know if this helped. More of a cheat but MS pretty much made the Table of Contents ALL or nothing as far as I have found out yet. . . .

You could book mark the entries that you do not want the page number for. Then, base your TOC on Styles and Table marked entries and your level 2 TOC will not have page numbers. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions! I will give them a try.
