Word to Publisher easily??? 2

I work with large documents (>3MB) in Word 2000. Recently it has consistantly began hanging (completely frozen to all actions) after a few minutes.

So, I would like to convert my document to a program that manages large files more easily, like MS publisher.

if I convert it to publisher (and how do I?) will it maintain my many and important internal hyperlinks?

Good question. I just tried it without too much success. To get the document from Word to Publisher, you have to import it as a text file into an open text frame. I imported a single line of text with a hyperlink, then saved the document as a web page. When I opened the web page with Explorer, it retained the visible characteristics of the link (blue with an underline) but the actual link was lost.

I have a 21 page word document with text, graphs, charts etc. that I am trying to move into publisher. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this easily?

algraff is right, it's nnot easy to do. You need to copy and past the txt files into open text boxes. It may be a pain initially, but stick with publisher for your new documents from the begining. Jon Holmen
