I need help getting my rows to lock in a table that I have in word. I have a table with 16 rows and 8 columns. Whenever I type in a cell and the words get too big for the column, the words wrap down where a space is located causing the cell to become bigger. I do not want the cell to become Vertically Bigger but to become Horizontally bigger. I would rather have my columns expand to the text amount and not my rows.

I have tried locking my row height but it just causes the words to stop being shown at the end of the column instead of expanding the column out.

Please advise!!

See if this will give you what you want...

Select the entire Table
Table > Table Properties
Row Tab
Checkmark Specify height
Type the maximum measurement you desire
Row height is: Exactly
Uncheck Allow row to break across pages
Select the entire Table
Table > AutoFit > AutoFit to Contents

Try Table - Table Properties - Table - Options - you can click on Automatically Resize to Fit Contents.
